MSIT programme is being offered by “Consortium of Institutions of Higher Learning” (CIHL), formed by the universities in Andhra Pradesh, in collaboration with leading universities from across the globe. CIHL has designed the programme with the active participation of Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), USA and inputs from major IT companies. The MSIT programme was started in 2001 and students were admitted to the Learning Centers at International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Hyderabad, School of IT, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Hyderabad, College of Engineering, Osmania University and Regional Engineering College (REC, now NIT), Warangal in the last four years. In 2004, the Story/Problem Centered Curriculum was introduced and the fourth batch of students were admitted to the MSIT division, International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), College of Engineering, Osmania University (OU), Hyderabad and School of Information Technology (SIT), Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU). |
The MSIT (MS in IT or Master of Science in Information Technology) programme is innovative multi-university interdisciplinary post graduate programmes being offered under the MSIT programme. The programme use sophisticated educational technologies and are delivered through Learning Centers with well-equipped laboratories housed in the finest IT and engineering institutions. MSIT offers the latest domains specializations on par with international universities. Computer Networks and security as a domain specialization is offered for the first time in the state only in MSIT. Bio-Informatics, Software Engineering and E-commerce are also the domains which have very high demand in the current software industry. |
